JOB TITLE: Instrument Design Engineer

 

Our client requires an Instrument Design Engineer, BSEE, BSME, 3-5 yrs oil & gas facilities engineering and familiarity with ISA, API, ASME, ANSI, NFPA and other codes and standards as applied to instrument balance of plant equipment including common international codes.  Experience in centrifugal compressors surge theory is a plus as is 6-Sigma or similar background.   
The Senior Instrument Design Engineer role is to fulfill the instrument engineering needs for Oil & Gas facilities engineering or balance of plant products in the support of sales and execution for company products, review and maintenance of office policy including ISO 9000 processes and Six-Sigma style quality objectives.   Individual in this role will be asked to train and lead improvement project teams, measure results and develop methods to maintain projects success. 
The Senior Design Instrument engineer will provide design/analytical instrument engineering for projects and proposals to assure that design and equipment meets customer specification and industry codes and standards, will handle specification creation and modification, P&ID creation and review and equipment specification (Pressures Safety Valves, Actuated Valves, Pressure / Temperature / Flow Measurement, Surge Valves, etc). 
Work entails active contribution to the development of project drawings such as PFDs, P&IDs, Cause & Effects, File & Gas, etc.  The individual will travel to fabrication sites, installation sites, and customer facilities as needed to support project requirements, participates in project design reviews and HAZOP reviews, interfaces with suppliers during the definition of equipment scope and through project execution, assists in design of system operating logic and provides field support during fabrication, commissioning, and start-up of designed systems.
