Chemical Plant Production Engineer



Our client requires a Chemical Plant Production Engineer, BSChE, 4-15 years experience as a chemical plant production engineer and not just process/project engineering.  Operations experience is mandatory with emphasis on distillation and technical knowledge of process equipment, instrumentation and controls and coordination of process improvement activities. 
Experience must include a background in chemical distillation, reaction systems and utility systems and be responsible for their portion of the production facilities as far as the technical issues and operating activities. 
The Unit Production Engineer will be responsible for safe and efficient operations of the unit, monitor plant operation, product yields, manufacturing coasts, and operating activity, provide technical assistances to operators and recommend improvements. 
Duties include troubleshooting process plant operation problems, product quality, equipment reliability, and safety data.  The Production Engineer will perform incident investigations using root cause analysis and develop solutions to prevent recurrences, analyze process information and develop recommendations for improving the process, participate in plant trials, and participate in process design and capital project implementation. 
This position will provide process knowledge to Maintenance or Project Engineering personnel to aid in the specification and/or maintenance of process equipment, instruments, and controls and be responsible for process and equipment changes and Management of Change process for the Unit while developing and maintaining SOP’s, training documents, P&ID’s and other process information.
