Chemical Plant Mechanical Engineer


Our client requires a Chemical Plant Mechanical Engineer, BSME, 10+ years chemical manufacturing facility with extensive knowledge of machinery design, fabrication, installation techniques, diagnostics, overhaul, repair and troubleshooting, small capital project management, development and implementation of broad machinery reliability improvement programs and past experience with Process Hazards Analysis, and Failure-Mode Effects Analysis, Delta V and/or Honeywell DSC experience a plus. 
The basic function of the plant engineering is to provide leadership and management for plant engineering, maintenance, and reliability, be responsible for directing engineering and maintenance activities for the production units, monitor and control costs associated with these activities and insure the safe and environmentally sound operation of these plants. 
Principal responsibilities will include insuring accountability for contractor activities, provide leadership for a focused maintenance, operations, and engineering team organization structure, provide direction involving plant improvement, expertise for troubleshooting technical problems, root cause analysis, maintenance team building, training and instruction for craftsmen on plant equipment and processes, take a leadership role on a Reliability Team and responsible for all aspects of plant project engineering, coordinate, and assist the division project group on major projects. 
The Plant Engineer will be responsible for monitoring contractor safety and environmental performance providing engineering support and guidance for the proper regulatory compliance and be responsible for failure investigations, engineering and implementing corrective actions, identifying and planned equipment replacement upgrades, provide leadership, direction, and encouragement toward an attitude promoting a continuous improvement policy.
