Process Control Engineer


Our client requires a Process Control Engineer, BSChE, BSEE, with proven process control (APC) engineering experience (2+ yrs) in a chemical plant or refinery project environment operating experience with project and design experience with equipment and instrumentation typically found in a chemical plant or refinery, ideally will have expertise in the application of DMC+ control technology and multivariable control technologies.  Viable candidate will have some specialization in advanced process control and will have at least five years of experience supporting capital project execution and/or unit operations in similar process industries.

Individual will have a strong knowledge on unit operations, engineering, and quality assurance methodologies, knowledge of commercial evaluation and economic optimization, analytical and conceptual thinking, able to understand both the details and the underlying systematic issues in order to plan and implement creative and effective solutions to business challenges.  This role is the Lead Process Control Engineering contact for the overall coordination of Process Control design and is responsible for reporting on project progress to management as required, ensuring all design data is captured and recorded correctly and accurately, review design information and vendor date for accuracy and ensuring compliance with internal and industry standards, provide coordination and integration as appropriate with the existing complex.

The Process Control Engineer will serve on HAZOPs, LOPA, SIL and other PSM reviews, provide troubleshooting and assistance for technical problems, will be the primary contact for EPC contractor for process control and DCS/SIS issues, and be responsible for advanced application technology oversight for the EO/EG project team, provide process control support for the MOC process, including leading appropriate MOSs, design input and review contractor and vendor packages for:  DCS and PLC Systems and safety interlocks/shutdowns, control and safety relief valves, all instrumentation and field analyzers, both analog and discrete, process control systems architecture, oversee development of HMI for PLC and DCS.
