Capital Projects Controller

 

Our client requires a Capital Projects Controller, BSME, BSChE with 10+ yrs chemical plant capital project experience to effectively manage a $100-400m portfolio of capital projects per year by defining project resource requirements, monitoring and reporting to Board-level leadership on project progress and costs, and providing O&P-wide oversight, assess and recruit seasoned project professionals with project coordination skills for the O&P capital project organizations and act as a champion for the Capital Value Process and Design for Six Sigma across the O&P organization. 
Individual will be a knowledge expert of project planning, scheduling, and coordination for company O&P, analysis on diverse set of capital projects with regards to cost, timeliness, and resource managements, mentor all company project engineers, managers, and leaders, have project management tools, Industry Best Practices, understanding of industry regulations and standards effecting project in the industry. 
Individual will develop, plan, and make recommendations to Board of Directors to adequately resource load, build overall schedule based on activities from the various project schedules, provide guidance and roll-up data for monthly and yearly cost summaries and forecasts, manage project accounting data bases to ascertain timely upkeep, security and control, provide services as an internal auditor and assure controls are being following, assure adherence with the company work-at-risk and revenue-at-risk policies and be proficient in project management and financial software tools (Primavera6, MSOffice, Excel, Oracle, MS Project @Risk, Sap) with the ability to interpret and apply industry standards and specifications and implement planning, execution, review, control, and closeout project practices. 
Individual must have conversancy in Schedule Building at all 5 levels and demonstrated proficiency in Project Tracking, Trend Analysis, Change Management, Resource Planning & Management, Project Management, Budget Cost Analysis, Earned Value Management, Preparation of Monthly Cost/Scheduling Reports and forecasting Man hours.
