Electrical Engineer

 

Our client requires an Electrical Engineer, BSEE, Professional License Preferred, with 10-15 yrs in a chemical plant project/consulting environment supporting capital project execution and/or unit operations in similar process industries with a proven track record as an electrical engineering specialist (high/med/low voltage) for projects/consulting in operating chemical process plants and/or refineries.  Experience managing and direction contract engineering staff is required. 
This role is the Project Electrical Engineering Contact for the overall coordination of Electrical and Instrumentation design related activities for the new Ethylene Oxide and Ethylene Glycol Plant and is responsible for reporting on project process to management as required, ensuring all design data is captured and recorded correctly and accurately.  Review design information and vendor data for accuracy and ensuring compliance with internal and industry drawing standards, providing coordination and integration as appropriate with the existing complex.  
The position works closely with the EPC contractor, site engineers, utility provider, and various equipment vendors to review design and ensure that the electrical design and equipment specified and selected for the Project is properly suited for the application and complies with industry and company specifications.  The Electrical Engineer will work with the EPC contractor and vendors and may be required to perform inspections and witness testing at vendor shops.  Contractor oversight continues during construction by ensuring that installations are in accordance with design and vendor requirements to deliver and safe and high quality plant. 
The Electrical Engineer will actively support all Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) policies and procedures, provide electrical engineering design guidance and technical leadership for the following:  industrial scale unit operations, heat transfer, steam & power generation, distillation, boilers, effluent treatment systems, utilities, serve on HAZOPS, LOPA, SIL, and other PSM reviews, provide input on selection of equipment, design input and review of engineering contractor and vendor packages for power distribution (138KV, 34.5KV, 4160V), switching, grounding and usage (including variable speed drives and motors).
